International Cuisine 28th April 2007

On Saturday 28 April we will be sampling the varied cuisine of Singapore , Helped by people who have spent years in that extraordinary country.  The team of chefs will prepare what has become Singapore 's national dish, Laksa Lemak - wonderful coconut curry gravy full of shrimp, egg and chicken, with all those extra flavours from the mysterious East.   Singapore really is multicultural.  The food is heavily influenced by Malaysian, Chinese, Indian (specifically Tamil, and other southern styles), Indonesian and even Western traditions since its founding by the British in the 1800s The chefs will do justice to this variety in their choice of the other courses.  As usual with these Old School evenings, (do you remember the Ancient Greek, Guatemalan and Mesopotamian dinners?) in addition to a delicious and intriguing menu there will be plenty of information and discussion about the country, and perhaps even some entertainment.

Tickets are £12 each. You may like to book early.
