The Old School is the informal name for a charity called the 'Stoke Climsland Community Resource Centre'.  The Old School's aim is to provide a wide variety of activities, services and events for the benefit of the local community and beyond.  Some of these are provided free of charge - access to broadband and the internet is one example.  For others, like Scottish County Dancing, Film Night and Yoga we make a nominal charge.  We charge near commercial rates for exciting events such as the monthly live Jazz evenings, Classical Club concerts and our International Dinners.  This enables us to keep the fabric of the building maintained, and provide a small surplus to refurbish where necessary.  The Old School has one employee - our Chief Administrator Edah - but it is mostly run by enthusiastic volunteers.  At the top of our tree sit our Board Members, who formally administer the charity on behalf of the community.
